Day 31 – one month of daily Pilates

Day 31 – the last day of January and I am happy to report my first month of daily Pilates practise has gone well. I think it’s important set (and celebrate when you reach them) smaller goals or stepping stones along the way. This is particularly important when you set a goal that has a long time frame. Without smaller goals along the way it is far less motivating and is some cases difficult to see if you’re on track to reach your end goal.

I’m breaking my year of Pilates down into months to make it mentally easier. So yes I am very happy to put a big ‘tick’ next to January. I only have to do that another 11 times and I’ll be finished!

Today I had another semi private session with Audrey at Performance Pilates and Physiotherapy in West Perth. My favourite exercise of today’s session was standing side splits on the reformer, with rotator discs under both feet, and in the roll down position. Agggh. Very challenging but very fun. An exercise that if you focus 200% it is manageable but as soon as you lose any of your focus it is virtually impossible. I love exercises like this that make you concentrate so hard you lose track of time.
